Fingerprint Tree

The London based wedding photographer Shella just updated her website showcasing some stunning wedding and engagement photography.  While nosing through the various tailored packages she offers, I came across the following sentence “I offer a complimentary page of fingerprint tree where your guests can leave their colourful fingerprints in the book”.  Intrigued, I googled Wedding Fingerprint Tree and stumbled upon the best alternative to a wedding guest book, ever!

Fingerprint trees are a drawing of a tree (usually, although balloons are sometimes used instead) with branches upon which guests stamp their fingerprint using the ink pads provided, and then sign their names.  The happy couple has a permanent and colourful record of who attended their wedding and can frame it to showcase in their home.

I love the idea of this utterly personal piece of art which can be framed as a keepsake of your wedding for years to come.
If however, the thought of drawing your own tree fills you with dread, head over to Etsy.com where you can find pieces of hand drawn art to add your fingerprints to, or ready-made pictures with leaves already drawn that guests simply sign.

Fingerprint trees also make beautiful gifts for baby showers and anniversaries but why stop there?  Have a look at our fingerprint themed mood board for inspiration from cufflinks to bracelets from cookies to gifts for your bridesmaid and lovely stationery in between.

Unique & personal
